Stewardship is one of our values we hold at Florida Hospital. Usually, when we think of stewardship, we think of how we manage our financial resources. However, the story below shows that stewardship is much more than that. It is about living our mission: "To Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ".
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude towards a few stewards of the mission that Florida Hospital has promised its patients. I have a daughter that on a weekend evening began running a temperature of 104 degrees. This was very traumatic for my family, especially my little girl. After we arrived, my daughter was immediately triaged and the nurse went back and got an order for medicine to bring down the fever.
Shortly after being given meds, we were escorted to a room. It couldn’t have been much longer that ten minutes after we arrived that we were greeted by a wonderful nurse. She did an outstanding job of comforting my family in this crisis. She spent time explaining everything she was going to do my daughter. She assured my wife and me that she was going to provide us with the best care that she can give. She kept us informed of when she was going to start the IV and draw blood for labs and get the results STAT. After the doctor ordered more meds, she sat with us and watched to make sure that my daughter took every drop.
I also would like to pay a big compliment to the physician. He did a great job of explaining why my daughter still had a fever after one week, and assured us that we were on the track to recovery. My wife and I are very appreciative of the care that each one of these people gave us that night. I was extremely pleased with the way everything turned out. God Bless these ambassadors to our mission!”
